Shannon is an art therapist licensed and board certified in New York State with a Master’s degree in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling. With a compassionate and client-centered approach to therapy, Shannon integrates a variety of creative and evidence-based modalities to support individuals of all ages as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. Shannon blends traditional talk therapy with the healing power of art. This allows clients to explore emotions, build resilience, connect with their inner strengths, find new ways of expressing themself, and discover new perspectives in a safe and supportive space. Drawing from practices such as cognitive behavioral strategies, dialectical behavior therapy skills, internal family systems therapy models, solution focused techniques, mindfulness, and expressive arts, Shannon tailors each session to meet the unique needs of children, teens, and adults from all walks of life.Between internships, externships, and employment, Shannon has gained experience working with a variety of individuals in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, schools, day programs, PROS programs, and skilled nursing facilities. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, and trauma.
