My name is Mariah Carl Pittman, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor dedicated to guiding individuals through their healing journeys. I earned my Bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from Adelphi University, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University- Post.
I am a proud U.S Army Veteran, and my time in the military profoundly shaped my career in the mental health field where I now dedicate myself to helping others navigate their own healing.
During my undergraduate studies I worked as a preschool teacher, supporting children with behavioral challenges. During my graduate studies, I completed both of my internships and gained employment with a Personal Recovery Oriented Services Program (PROS). In this position, I provided both group and individual therapy to individuals with severe mental illnesses. I have experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, ADHD and substance abuse.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing (MI) and trauma-informed care. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and reclaim their sense of self.
My goal is to help others find strength in their stories, embrace self-discovery, and move toward a life of fulfillment and purpose.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, I’m here to help you blossom!
